Cheap Health Insurance

Cheap health insurance is getting harder to find by the day. Health insurance rates are increasing gradually so that small businesses are unable to provide cheap health insurance plans at lower costs.

For that reason, there are new and cheaper forms of health insurance for small businesses that cannot afford the current high health insurance rates. These cheap insurance forms are also known as health discount plans.

Actually, more than 47 million people from the lower middle class and poor have no means to access the health care system in the US. Different cheap health insurance organizations such as the HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) appeared to cover some gaps in the American health system. The HMOs provide health insurance at affordable prices, but this is a basic plan that has its own limitations. The number of people who are prone to have certain diseases like cancer or diabetes is increasing considerably. This is one of the reasons why health insurance rates are increasing.

Another problem that affects health insurance rates is that hospitals have to take care of people who cannot afford health insurance. Hospitals were not designed to be the primary health care providers of many people, but that is what they have become.

People who are able to get health insurance may find it more difficult and expensive if they have bad health history or suffer a pre-existing condition.
